Last updated: 30 October 2026

OZAX is a Northern Ireland business that helps tradesmen catch the calls they miss. This notice explains what we collect when you ring our number, get a text from us, fill in a form on this site, book a call or become a client, what we do with it and the choices you have. If anything here isn't clear, email info@ozax.io.

Who we are

OZAX LTD (company no. NI734136, registered office 51 Channing Street, Belfast, BT5 5GP) is the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us about your data at info@ozax.io.

ICO registration number: ZC126900

When we run missed call recovery for one of our clients (a tradesman), the tradesman is the controller of their customers' details and we process them on their behalf, under a written agreement. If you rang a tradesman and got a text from their business, contact that business first. We'll help them answer you.

What we collect

  • Calls. When you ring a number we manage, we record the number you rang from, the time of the call and whether it was answered.
  • Voicemails. If you leave a voicemail, it is recorded and automatically transcribed so we can send a one-line summary to the person you were trying to reach.
  • Texts. If a call is missed, we send one text to the number that rang, with a link to a callback page. We keep a record of the texts we send and any reply.
  • Callback and contact forms. Your name, phone number, message and the day and time you'd like a call back.
  • Booked calls. If you book through Calendly, the details you give Calendly (name, email, time slot and any answers).
  • Emails and messages you send us directly.
  • Clients. If you become a client: your name, business details, contact details, what you've bought from us, and invoices and payments.
  • Businesses we contact. If we think OZAX could help your business, we may contact you using business details you've made public, such as your Google listing or website.

We don't use advertising trackers on this site. We don't use analytics cookies on this site. We don't sell your details to anyone.

You don't have to give us your details, but we can't ring you back without a name and number.

Why we use it

  • To ring you back, answer your question or deliver the service you asked for (taking steps at your request, or our contract with you).
  • To provide the services we've agreed with our clients, and to invoice for them (contract).
  • To let the business you rang know you called, so a missed call doesn't become a lost customer (legitimate interests).
  • To keep the system working, prevent spam and fix problems (legitimate interests).
  • To tell businesses about OZAX, where we think it could help them (legitimate interests). Ask us to stop at any time and we will.
  • To meet legal and accounting duties (legal obligation).

We only send the one text after a missed call. We won't add you to marketing messages unless you ask us to. We don't make decisions about you based only on automated processing.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service. They only process your details on our instructions:

  • Twilio: phone numbers, calls, voicemail recordings and text messages.
  • AssemblyAI: transcribing voicemails, processed in the EU.
  • Vercel: hosting this website and the callback pages.
  • Supabase: storing call and callback records.
  • Resend: sending email alerts.
  • Calendly: booking calls, if you choose to book one.

We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with HMRC.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use one essential cookie, which remembers your cookie choices.

We don't use any analytics or advertising cookies at the moment. If we start, we'll ask for your consent first.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with , also in the footer of every page. Our cookie policy lists every cookie, what it does and how long it lasts.

How long we keep it

  • Call records, voicemails, transcripts and callback requests: up to 12 months, then deleted, unless you've become a client and we need them to provide the service.
  • Client records, invoices and payments: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as UK tax law requires.
  • Business contact details we've used to get in touch: up to 12 months, or straight away if you ask us to stop.

You can ask us to delete your details sooner.

Keeping it safe

We use providers with strong security, encrypt data while it's sent, and limit access to the people who need it. If something goes wrong that puts your details at risk, we'll tell you and the ICO where the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your data
  • correct it, or delete it
  • restrict how we use it, or object to it, including any contact about our services (we'll always stop)
  • send it to you or another company in a reusable format, where that applies
  • stop using it where you gave consent, such as for cookies. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect what happened before

Email info@ozax.io and we'll reply within one month. It's free.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
